RADICI FESTIVAL

RADICI Festival returns to the Teatro Cortesi in Sirolo with a program dedicated to contemporary performing arts and the reinterpretation of classical myths through theatre, music and performance. The festival creates a dialogue between ancient narratives and contemporary artistic languages, transforming the theatre into a place of encounter, reflection and shared experience. The 2026 edition explores themes of prophecy, transformation, identity and travel, presenting four performances that revisit classical archetypes through multidisciplinary approaches combining theatre, electronic music, physical performance and contemporary dramaturgy. 4 September – CASSANDRA A sound ritual inspired by Virgil’s Cassandra, exploring the figure of the prophetess suspended between listening, prophecy and incomprehension. Through voice, electronic soundscapes and sound sculptures, the performance creates an immersive environment where body, matter and language continuously resonate. The stage becomes a ritual space in which the future emerges as an echo of the present. 11 September – METAMORPHOSES Blending theatre, electronic music and physical performance, Metamorphoses investigates transformation through mythological figures such as Narcissus, Medusa, Tiresias, Daphne, Icarus and Cassandra. Ancient archetypes return with contemporary voices within a dreamlike landscape shaped by sound, movement and fragmented narratives. Structured like a live DJ set, the performance creates a continuous flow where words, music and bodies merge into a single dramaturgical experience. 18 September – THE MENAECHMI: LIKE BRASS AND GOLD Collettivo VAN reimagines Plautus’ comedy through a contemporary adaptation set between Trapani and Naples. Two identical twins separated during childhood unknowingly move through a world of misunderstandings, mistaken identities and comic situations. The classical text is revisited through physical theatre, music and contemporary humor, reflecting on identity and belonging. 25 September – ODYSSEUS SUPERSTAR Combining theatre, music and circus-inspired language, Collettivo VAN continues its exploration of classical mythology through the figure of Odysseus. Actors continuously transform themselves to embody multiple characters and places, using simple theatrical devices and the audience’s imagination to create a playful and poetic journey through myth. RADICI Festival promotes theatre as an accessible and collective experience, connecting contemporary artistic research with the cultural heritage of the Mediterranean and strengthening Sirolo’s role as a place for artistic experimentation and cultural exchange.
