Septembersong
Septembersong is the new event from WOOD HQ. Now onto our 3rd year, Septembersong 2025 will take place on the equinox weekend, 19th, 20th and 21st September 2025.Just as Wood kicks off the outdoor festival season in mid-May, Septembersong is our way of seeing out the summer in style. While the first 2 years of Septembersong took place in the same field as Wood, this year we are using the atmospheric barn for our main stage, and the picturesque lawns and orchard of the famous Braziers house. We've got great acts performing: including Hayden Thorpe, who came to prominence as the lead singer and chief songwriter for the much-celebrated band Wild Beasts. Hayden will be coming to Septembersong to present a very special full-band performance of ‘Ness’, his 2024 album of rare ambition and singular beauty made in collaboration with best-selling nature writer Robert Macfarlane. We also are proud to present renowned West Country songwriter and former Show of Hands frontman, Steve Knightley, the multitalented Bristol-based artist Rachael Dadd, and Merseyside hero Ian Prowse, performing at Septembersong with the ‘fiddle of fire’... plus former member of The Guthries- Gabriel Minnikin, Holly Carter accompanied by Joe WIlkins and even more great music from Mountaintop Junkshop, Elaine Palmer, Only the Brave and Miniseries. Cult songwriter Chris T-T’s set at Septembersong will be one of just FOUR live appearances this summer and Septembersong also features Ellie Wilson's new piece Moth x Human highlighting declining UK biodiversity. We will have a number of Wood favourites joining us at Septembersong: Katy Rose Bennett will be playing a solo set as well as running one of her acclaimed harmony singing workshops in the barn; Jali Fily Cissokho, virtuoso player of the kora based in Senegal and Oxfordshire, and the eccentric home-made wizardry of Thomas Truax. As well as a full line-up of music, there's the Old Ways Makerspace, talks and activities and lots of ways to slow down, relax and re-connect. We’ll be asking artists for ‘stories behind the songs’, taking time for yoga and meditation, and enjoying the beautiful grounds of Braziers Park. There’s also kids’ yoga and a Junior Makerspace for younger visitors. There will be singing workshops with Katy Bennett and Elena Harris, a pedal-powered silent disco after hours, and most likely singing round the campfire too!Weekend tickets £99 and day tickets £55 are on sale now and camper van passes and luxury pre-pitched bell tents can be purchased separately.
