Stresa Festival

14 Jul 2019 - 27 Jul 2019
Stresa, Italy

In 2019 the Festival reaches its 58th edition and also this year it will show its two souls, the classic and the innovative one. Among the most renowned artists we point out the presence of the soloists Maurizio Pollini and Akiko Suwanai and among the great orchestras the Russian National Orchestra.

Concerning the original proposals there will be two world premières : a concert with music inspired by Stravinski’s Pulcinella by Dan Tepfer and a new soundtrack commissioned by the Festival for the screening of the silent film La chute de la maison Usher by J.Epstein.

To be mentioned also a project on the figure of Artemisia Gentileschi with video projection, a dance show on a selection of music from Prelude and Fugue by Sostakovic, the new tracks inspired by the soundtrack of Lisbon Story, performed by Teresa Salgueiro and a literary and musical meeting with the writer Simonetta Agnello Hornby.

Gianandrea Noseda, the Artistic Director of the Festival, will direct the Orquesta de Cadaqués.
