TACT FESTIVAL 2026

TACT is an international festival of performing arts that every year transforms a district of Trieste into a living stage for theater, music, circus, and multimedia projects. Created by Centro Universitario Teatrale APS, and organized in collaboration with Hangar Teatri, it is the only event in the city entirely dedicated to live performance in public spaces. Each edition takes place in a different neighborhood, activating urban areas through art and participation, and creating new social dynamics between residents and international artists.

The 2026 edition will continue this mission, focusing on the regeneration of public spaces, accessibility to high-quality culture, and youth inclusion. For one week, the chosen district will become an open creative village hosting more than 25 free events: shows, concerts, exhibitions, and workshops for all ages. The festival combines artistic excellence and social engagement, turning streets, courtyards, and markets into places of encounter and transformation.

The 2026 edition will continue to develop this model, focusing on the regeneration of urban spaces, accessibility to culture, and the promotion of inclusion and dialogue. For one week, the selected area will become a “creative village” animated by a multidisciplinary program that includes theater, music, dance, and multimedia arts, combined with workshops, exhibitions, and public meetings. All events are free of charge, ensuring open access and participation for people of all ages and backgrounds.TACT’s identity is based on the idea of art as a collective and transformative experience. Each edition is conceived through a process of co-design with local organizations, associations, and residents, adapting artistic content to the architectural and social context of the neighborhood. This participatory approach makes the festival not only an artistic event but also a platform for social innovation, where communities become active contributors to cultural creation.The festival’s program integrates artistic excellence with civic engagement and sustainability. It promotes exchange among local, national, and international artists, while also encouraging the involvement of young professionals, students, and volunteers. Educational and creative workshops stimulate critical thinking and empower participants to imagine new forms of living together. Through these activities, TACT becomes a laboratory for the development of skills, relationships, and awareness of cultural and environmental issues.In addition to artistic programming, TACT implements initiatives that promote inclusion, intergenerational dialogue, and accessibility.
