TANZFORUM Leipzig

For 4 days, the TANZFORUM hosts over 25 hours of workshops, performances, discussions and open-floor evenings with guests DJs.

With a focus on interdisciplinarity and a programme based on participatory formats, the festival creates an alternative approach to dance and performance art.

As part of the festival, six local, regional and international artists offer a journey of discovery into their working methods: through formats that are open to everyone, participants and visitors can experience these choreographic approaches both by observing and participating.

While the workshops allow for physical immersion in a language of movement, the evening events focus on performative works into the world of the artists.

Through these interactive formats and the encounter of different artistic perspectives, visitors are invited to rediscover dance and performance and the exchange between different audience groups is supported.

For professional dancers and dance artists, the festival provides a platform for experimentation, networking and professionalisation. It creates the opportunity to come into direct contact with the invited artists, to engage with contemporary approaches to choregraphy and performance and to expand the local international network.
