For many years, Nyíregyháza has been home to one of the largest, 90% free artistic event of Central Europe, the VIDOR – Happy Art Festival.
During the series of events, traditionally organized by Móricz Zsigmond Theatre at the end of August, there is real carnival atmosphere. In the theatre building, the best comedies of the year can be seen, while in many parts of the town, outdoor concerts of Hungarian and international stars, fine art exhibitions, puppet performances, live sculptures, street performers, street theatre, cartoonists and jugglers entertain the visitors of the VIDOR Festival.
