XXI International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films
In 2025, the International Festival of Red Cross and Health Films will hold its 21st edition and celebrate its 60th anniversary, traditionally under the patronage of the Vice President of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the context of increasing threats to human life, dignity, and nature, the significance of humanism plays a central role in the films selected for participation. Unique on a global scale, the forum's theme is "Humanity Every Day in a Changing World." The festival will showcase films in four categories: feature, documentaries, Red Cross, and health, including additional topics focused on the impact of art on people's mental health; culture and sports; culture and the environment; and inclusion through culture. It will also present a panorama of directors, actors, countries, and award winners throughout its 60-year history. The program includes at least 20 premiere films, as well as the participation of their cast and crews. The anniversary edition will feature additional events—a interactive exhibition, a documentary film about the festival's history, professional meetings with film industry figures, and parallel programs from partner festivals, some of which will take place between May and October. In light of the growing threats to human life, the Festival’s goal is to emphasise quality content and the involvement of important partners, focusing on humanism and environmentally responsible events, while ensuring access for socially vulnerable groups.
