17th edition of Anibar International Animation Festival

Born out of a passion for film, art, and culture, Anibar International Animation Festival is one of the most unique festivals in Kosovo, which every year brings together thousands of people from across the globe.Every summer, the city of Peja in Kosovo transforms into a hub of art, gathering enthusiasts, filmmakers, producers, and audiences from Kosova, the region, and the world. The festival is organised by young activists committed to animation and to addressing global challenges.With a mission to foster a love for art and culture, connect people, engage in collective discussions, and reflect on a reality that is not always kind, the festival aims to inspire the search for solutions, always visualising a horizon where things can be done better. The festival’s programme includes film screenings, presentations, workshops, masterclasses, panels, discussions, industry-focused sessions, and concerts that take place in multiple festival venues, including indoor and outdoor cinema, and various public spaces across the city.Its competitive categories are International, Balkan, Student, Human Rights, Animated Music Videos, and Young Audience, as well as non-competitive program varying from Virtual Reality Films to Experimental, Animated Documentaries, and Commissioned Work Category. Each edition, Anibar adopts a new theme that reflects pressing social, cultural, or existential questions and celebrates winners across its competitive categories for animated films. Past themes have included Migration, Global Warming, Revitalisation of the Public Spaces, Gender Equality, Hopes and Fears, Humans, (De)Isolation, Superstitions, Love, Smash the Patriarchy and What’s the Future? - WTF.
