"FolCalFest" is the well-known for years "Festival of Traditional Music Vocal Ensembles". It was renamed in July 2020. FolCalFest was designed in April 2010 as an annual cultural event by the Research Center of Greek Singing [ERKET]. The production began in December of the same year in the Municipality of Papagou-Cholargos. The purpose of FolCalFest is to present the Greek singing techniques in Greek communities in Greece and in Greek diaspora around the world. The main goal of the festival is the interaction and the acquaintance of ensembles or/and singing groups from all over Greece. FolCalFest wants to give the opportunity of cultural osmosis but also the presentation of the diversity of Greek folk music culture.
