52nd Festival della Valle d'Itria

Pulcinella / La Favola di Orfeo, presented as a diptych, Carmen, and Il Schiavo di sua Moglie: these are the main operas of the 52nd Festival della Valle d’Itria, taking place in 2026 in Martina Franca, among historical settings, local masserie and other evocative locations steeped in the charm of Apulia, Italy. Curated by artistic director Silvia Colasanti, the new edition is titled “Mediterraneo” — the Mediterranean as the cradle of myth, a crossroads of cultures and a sea that welcomes. A theme that runs through the programme, inviting audiences to explore stories, sounds and traditions shaped by encounters, journeys and shared horizons.

Alongside the main operas, the Festival offers concerts, special series, talks and meetings, for a rich and wide-ranging programme that confirms Festival della Valle d’Itria as an international stage for opera, music and cultural discovery.

The 2O26 edition of the Festival della Valle d’Itria offers a moment of reflection, a lens through which to observe the present and rediscover the value of dialogue between cultures. More than just a series of performances, it is an opportunity for shared growth —for the territory and for its audience— remaining faithful to the tradition of unconventional programming while attentive to social challenges and engaging new spectators.
