ARTISTI IN PIAZZA - International Performing Arts Festival 30°edition
The main aim of the International Festival of Performing Arts ARTISTI IN PIAZZA of Pennabilli (Italy) is the promotion of the arts and live performance as fundamental elements for the dissemination of culture, individual growth and social cohesion, as well as a strategic development factor of our territory also through a focus on sustainability, and socio-cultural impact.
PROMOTION OF MULTIDISCIPLINARY ACTIVITIES-The programme is characterised above all by the diversification and stratification of the proposal, which is based on interdisciplinarity, promotes hybrid forms that merge disciplines that are often far apart, creating interesting contaminations that renew genres and give rise to new and unprecedented languages, encouraging the freedom of art expressions.
DEVELOPMENT OF PRACTICES OF ARTISTIC RESIDENCIES and EXPERIENTIAL PERFORMANCES TO STRENGTH THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE FESTIVAL, THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND THE ARTISTS INVOLVED - The "in situ" creation of the performance is an opportunity of encounter and planning that transforms the landscape in the scenic material from which to draw ideas and with which to compare, enriched above all by the interaction with the local population, and with the audience that shares the creative act with the artist.
PROMOTION OF YOUNG ARTISTS AND COLLABORATION WITH QUALIFIED CULTURAL ORGANISATIONS for THE DISSEMINATION OF PERFORMANCES BEYOND REGIONAL AND NATIONAL BORDERS – We support young realities on the performing arts scene, programming several artists under 35, and fostering interactions between art directors and artists through thematic meetings in order to contribute to the professional growth and circulation of emerging realities.
PROMOTION OF COMMUNICATION, INFORMATION, TRAINING AND AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT THROUGH THE INVOLVEMENT OF INSTITUTIONS AND TERRITORIAL ORGANISATIONS SUCH AS SCHOOLS, MUSEUMS,CULTURAL ASSOCIATIONS AND TOURISM STRUCTURES - We organize training workshops dedicated to the world of the performing arts, proposed to the audience of the festival, in particular children and youths, but also referred to artists and professiona.
GOOD PRACTICES AIMED AT THE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY OF THE FESTIVAL - The special working group GoGreen! focuses its attention and develops practices to improve the sustainability of the festival, to progressively limit the Festival's environmental impact in a small inland village as Pennabilli.
DEVELOPMENT OF ANECONOMIC AND TOURISM ENGINE REALISED THROUGH HIGH QUALITY ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING – Working in synergy with the tourism and cultural heritage operators in the area, the Festival has contributed to the development of the cultural offer, deseasonalising the flow of tourists and reversing the trend of depopulation.
Each edition Pennabilli welcomes 50 international companies, over 200 artists, about 350 performances and 30.000 public attendance. The festival is born from the idea of enhancing all the expressions of art, from theatre and music to contemporary circus, dance, puppetry, and visual arts, presenting them in public places that become a stage for all kinds of entertainment, to feel new energies and good vibrations transmitted by art and moments of shared beauty.In 2026, the 30th edition of Artisti in Piazza Festival will take place in Pennabilli from 11th to 14th June.
