Budapest Dance Festival

Formerly known as the Dance Forum, the National Dance Theatre Budapest has been renewing its large-scale event series every year since 2011 under the name Budapest Dance Festival. The multi-day programme features ballet, modern and contemporary dance and folk dance performances.

The Budapest Dance Festival is the biggest celebration of Hungarian dance, with Hungarian premieres and world-class performances. When international companies perform, we also cooperate with the Embassy of the company's home country in Hungary, giving the National Dance Theatre Budapest the opportunity to host international professionals alongside renowned foreign companies in the home of Hungarian dance culture.

This year Opus Ballet from Italy, the Martha Graham Dance Company from the USA, Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company from Germany, Malandaine Ballet Biarritz from France performs in the frameworks of the festival, on beside of the Hungarian performers, such as on the day of the international dance day a galaperformance will be presented by the most successful Hungarian dance companies, but performs the Ballet Company of Győr, Inversedance-Zoltán Fodor Company, the ballet company of Budapest Operetta Theatre, Budapest Dance Theatre, Fehér Ferenc and friends and the Feledi Project.
