Chopin Piano FEST Prishtina 2026
Established in 2010 to mark the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frédéric Chopin, Chopin Piano Fest Prishtina proudly continues a rich tradition of honoring the legacy of the great composer. Over the years, it has grown into one of Kosovo’s most significant and valued cultural events. As a member of the International Federation of Chopin Societies, under the auspices of UNESCO, Chopin Piano Fest has developed into a respected cultural brand with strong local roots and an expanding international presence. Under the artistic direction of Prof. Lejla Haxhiu-Pula—Kosovo’s first pianist and a devoted mentor to generations of musicians—the festival presents a diverse and distinguished program each year. Its editions feature a rich selection of solo and chamber concerts, showcasing both classical and contemporary masterpieces performed by acclaimed pianists from around the world. More than a concert series, Chopin Piano Fest serves as an international platform for artistic exchange, cultural dialogue, and long-term collaboration. The participation of artists from countries that have yet to recognize Kosovo highlights music’s unique power as a universal language that transcends political boundaries. The festival traditionally opens in celebration of Europe Day and concludes in June, on the eve of Kosovo’s Liberation Day. Beyond its concert program, the festival offers masterclasses, seminars, and artist talks, providing meaningful opportunities for young musicians through intensive training and collaboration with internationally renowned pianists.
Committed to artistic excellence and cultural dialogue, Chopin Piano Fest continuously expands its international partnerships and fosters collaboration across borders. By connecting established artists with emerging talents and engaging diverse audiences, the festival contributes to the cultural vitality of Kosovo and strengthens its position within the European cultural landscape.
