Cinematica Festival XI - DIE FOR LAUGHING
Cinematica is an international festival that deals specifically with the image-movement relationship in the visual and performing arts. The festival, along with the programme that includes video and film screenings, performances, exhibitions, installations and laboratories, wants to convey new trends in audiovisual and performance experimentations, with a strong focus on bodily and perceptual root. After dedicating the 2021 edition to the theme of Touch, 2022 to Natura Naturans, 2023 to De Anima, it seems to us that three years after the pandemic event, time has come to evoke the "lighter spirit" even in hard times. The theme of this XI edition, which will take place at the end of October, is 'DIE FOR LAUGHING'. With this expression, we will point the attention on the tragicomic dimensions of visual and performing arts.
A special focus will be dedicated to silent movies and the relation with humor and comics. We will also be investigating if digital and new tech art could express this theme in an original way, wthout falling into comedia.
Inside the festival there are two others cultural containers "CINEMATICA VIDEODANCE COMPETITION" and "CINEMATICA KIDS". The first one is an international videodance competition, the second one is a specific spinoff dedicated to children and families on motion/image and body/new tech research, workshop and play.
