INTERPLAY/ 23 International Festival of Contemporary Dance and Peforming Arts
Mosaico Danza, founded and directed by Natalia Casorati and active in the national territory for 30 years, has been organizing INTERPLAY, a festival of contemporary dance and performance, for 22 editions. Working in partnership with several networking initiatives supporting choreographic residencies, co-productions, and actions, Mosaico Danza promotes young dance performers, at both the national and international levels.
INTERPLAY, a reference point in the City of Turin and of the Italian scene for fans of young international contemporary dance, hosts the best Italian and foreign talents from all over the world, emphasizing its desire to get involved and include different aesthetic and poetic choices, and different choreographic paths. Indeed, it hosts choreographers whose paths have led them to make choices that often undermine traditional poetics, embarking on courageous personal choreographic research. Every year it presents the best of the new emerging contemporary dance with performances in theatres and in urban places, hosting several companies from all over the world: Canada, Israel, USA, Germany, Netherlands, Japan, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, Spain, UK, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Poland… and Italy!
With a dedicated urban dance section, named INTERPLAY DIFFUSO, the festival pushes Italian and international artists to meet diverse communities in unconventional public spaces and peripheries and outskirts of the city, enabling a dialogue between art and social matters, such as inclusivity and accessibility to culture.
