INTERPLAY/ 24 International Festival of Contemporary Dance & Performing Arts

Mosaico Danza, founded and directed by Natalia Casorati and active for 30 years, organises INTERPLAY, an international festival of contemporary dance, reaching its 24th edition. Working in partnership with several networking initiatives supporting choreographic residencies and co-productions, Mosaico Danza promotes young and mid-career dance performers and choreographers, at both national and international levels.

INTERPLAY, a reference point in Italy for young international contemporary dance, hosts the best Italian and international talents from all over the world, embodying a desire to get involved and include different aesthetic and poetic choices, and different choreographic paths. Every year INTERPLAY presents the best of the new emerging contemporary dance with performances in theatres and in urban places, hosting companies from all over the world.

With a dedicated urban dance section, INTERPLAY DIFFUSO, the festival pushes Italian and international artists to meet diverse communities in unconventional public spaces and peripheries of the city, enabling a dialogue between art and social matters, such as inclusivity and accessibility to culture.

Mosaico Danza with INTERPLAY has contributed in these years to the formation of a public that is attentive to the contemporary languages. It has fostered the mobility of Italian artists through projects in network, winners of government’s and European Union’s support, like DANCE ROADS that won Creative Europe in 2015.
