In an increasingly clear horizon themes, bodies, voices, take shape and form and tell us not only about the need for structural renewal of a festival that this year turns 37, but the relaunch of a process that sees in the new generations, and in their look to the future from this point in time, the protagonists, as well as the first partners of MILANoLTRE 1986-2024 Back to the future!
It was the result of the first edition of MindTheDance!, a study conducted by the Università Cattolica di Milano on the festival, which created our first word-guide, Generativity, that will accompany us on this journey throughout the next 18 days. A word-guide that combines the poetic manifesto Silent Legacy and the evening-event DJ Battle by Maud Le Pladec/CCN ORLEANS to the new creations of Vetrina Italia Domani, crossing the sections Anticorpi XL with the young Camilla Montesi, the project Affollate Solitudini TEENS and the Masterclass one in Training Centers, the new cycle of Performative Conferences, in an unprecedented and future-oriented constellation. Other constellations of words draw lines and imaginary figures among the more than 60 events of this edition.
In the multiverses shine new creations by Emio Greco/Pieter Scholten from Holland and Compagnie Marie Chouinard from Québec, both united by a common research on the theme of breath, the cosmic poems-choreographies by Fabrizio Favale/Le Suppici and the new artistic project by Panzetti/Ticconi; on the traces under the skin flow the portraits of Cristina Kristal Rizzo and the unpublished works of the associated artists Stefania Ballone and Lara Guidetti in which different generations issues and languages merge; from the archive_backtothefutures emerge the works of the repertoire of the great guest companies alongside the long-awaited debut of Salvo Lombardo, the research on artificial intelligence by Silvia Galletti and the concept of “meme” by Parini Secondo.
