ORIENTE OCCIDENTE DANCE FESTIVAL - 46° edition
In 2026, Oriente Occidente Festival continues to interrogate the present through the language of dance and movement, placing at the centre of its programme a theme that runs through the entire year and the 2025–2027 three-year period: the presence and absence of bodies in public space, in culture, and in the contemporary imagination. “Absent bodies” – invisible, marginalised, or erased – become the starting point for reinterpreting the complexity of our times and for restoring voice and narrative to subjectivities that often remain at the margins of dominant discourse. Through dance, a universal and immediate language, these absences emerge and are transformed into new possibilities for relationship, listening, and mutual understanding. The Festival thus becomes a space for research and reflection, where artistic practice is not only an aesthetic expression but also a critical tool for observing reality and imagining new forms of coexistence.
