What happens when Pinocchio says, “My nose grows now!” ?The wooden boy’s nose grows whenever he tells a lie. But when he says “My nose grows now!” a logical paradox is created: if Pinocchio is lying, his nose will lengthen — making his statement true, and thus no longer a lie.This absurd premise introduces a variation of the liar paradox, raising questions around the verifiability of a statement. PAF transforms the phrase, “My nose grows now!” into both hyperbole and a disturbing probe into the cycles of false contradictions from which it is difficult to escape.This motif, drawn from Pinocchio’s fairy-tale world, is the theme of the 24th edition of the PAF Olomouc festival, taking place from December 4 to 7, 2025, in Olomouc.
