Schrit_tmacher Festival 2024

It's that time again! Every year between Carnival and Easter, schrit_tmacher invites you to experience contemporary dance at a wide variety of productions from around the world.

The upcoming 29th edition of our festival celebrates dance with leading companies and creators from New Zealand, France, China, the United States, Great Britain, Senegal, Germany, Wales, Belgium and from our own country.

Since the first festival in 1993 at the Ludwig Forum Aachen, schrit_tmacher has developed into a cross-border dance/cultural festival of international stature with performances, films, workshops and surprising location projects. With performances in Aachen, Heerlen, Kerkrade and Eupen, the festival is at the forefront of the innovative, even unique situation that one large festival takes place simultaneously in three countries and a Euroregional, international audience shuttles between all locations. Year after year, we thus strengthen the quality of our region as an internationally oriented "dance region."

And there is more. The youth program GENERATION2 with productions by young dancers in Aachen and Heerlen, special collaborations (our festival specials) and an exciting context program round out our festival program as always into a great whole.
