Street Books IX
The ninth edition of the Street Books festival will take place in Dolianova, Sardinia, Italy, from July 19 to 21, 2024. The theme of the festival is "Words in Motion, Telling to Transform," and it will focus on the use of literature as a tool for exploring and provoking social change, with a specific focus on gender-based violence. The festival will feature a variety of events, including readings, workshops, and panel discussions. Authors, poets, and artists from Italy and abroad will come together to share their work and discuss the importance of literature in addressing social issues. In addition to the main festival, Street Books will also be hosting a number of satellite events throughout the year. In October and November, the association will be visiting local schools to host workshops and readings, introducing students to the power of literature and encouraging them to use their voices to speak out against social injustice. In July and December, Street Books will be partnering with independent bookstores across Italy, providing a platform for authors and artists to connect with readers in a more intimate setting. The full program for the Street Books IX festival will be announced in the coming months. In the meantime, you can stay up-to-date on the latest news by following Street Books on social media or visiting their website. By expanding to new locations and offering a variety of new activities, the association commits to making literature accessible to everyone and hopes to reach a wider audience and inspire people to use their voices to make a difference in the world.
