XL FESTIVAL THEATRE CITY

XL FESTIVAL "THEATRE CITY"

Motto: “Quakes and Flatters Ever Since”

The 40th anniversary edition of the "Theatre City" festival will take place over 55 days, from June 30th to August 23rd, featuring more than 68 events. The festival program will be presented at several iconic venues, including the stage Between the Churches in the Old Town, Church Santa Maria in Punta, Poets' Square, the streets of the Old Town, the square in front of the Old Town, the amphitheatre of Stanjevići Monastery, and Mogren Fortress. Throughout the festival, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy acclaimed national, regional, and international productions, including theatre performances, concerts, literary evenings, exhibitions, and multimedia events. This year's artistic concept is deeply rooted in Budva's rich cultural and historical heritage, most notably through the world premieres of the plays "Kjara Zorzi", directed by Ana Vukotić, and “Theft, Retheft and Untheft”, directed by Vida Ognjenović. At the same time, the festival remains open to contemporary artistic practices, presenting programmes that explore current social and cultural issues through modern artistic expression and innovative formats.
