Due Siciliae -International Music Festival - 2th
The International Music Festival – Due Siciliae is a new musical initiative organised by AreaSud, which ideally and artistically brings together Naples and Catania, two cities that symbolise an extremely rich musical tradition, open to influences and always in dialogue with the present.
A festival with two souls, just like its artistic directors, Ketty Teriaca and Gianfranco Brundo, both professors at the conservatoires of Catania and Naples, respectively.
Through chamber music, jazz and the blending of genres, the festival celebrates the cultural vitality of the Two Sicilies, intertwining the roots of tradition with the most innovative voices of today's music scene, serving as a laboratory of ideas. A meeting point where history merges with experimentation, and differences become a shared value.
Central to the festival are the commitment to promoting young musical talents, the desire to break down the barriers between artists and audiences through meetings with performers, and the sustainability of events.
Due Siciliae is a new festival funded by the FNSV (National Fund for Live Performance) – Ministry of Culture for the years 2025–2027.
