Hortus Magicus - home of mine

Festival Hortus Magicus is a charming event full of fragrances, flavours, colors, delightful sounds and an unforgettable experience. Come back to the time of its founder Charles II of Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn, a Baroque magnate, to whom we owe the laying of the foundation stones of the chateau and the Castle Garden in Kroměříž.

Baroque music and dance, theatre based on original early modern games and ancient myths, fireworks according to original iconography and period games for children and adults - all this is inherently part of the Hortus Magicus festival.

The year 2024 is dedicated to the Bedřich Smetana, we call it the Year of the Czech music. The theme will be presented in all levels of the festival.

The festival is going to start with Má vlast symphony (B. Smetana), it will be performed by musicians of Moravská Olomouc and Bohuslava Martinů Philarmonies, with conductor Tomáš Netopil. The festival's highlight will be the first czech opera, Tinker by František Škroup.
