Olomouc Comes Alive 2026

Olomouc (o)žije is a street festival held in the heart of Olomouc, Czech Republic. It was founded in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to reconnect people through culture, outdoors, and safely in public space. Since its first edition, the festival has grown into one of the largest open-air cultural events in the country.Each June, for two full days, the historic city center transforms into a lively stage filled with music, performance, and art. Over 200 performing groups—including musicians, street artists, theatre ensembles, dancers, and visual artists—take over the streets on improvised stages spread throughout squares, courtyards, and alleyways.The festival is built on openness, accessibility, and community. It highlights non-professional and emerging artists while also engaging cultural institutions and local partners. Performances happen simultaneously in multiple locations, allowing visitors to explore the city and discover diverse genres and talents at every corner.Olomouc (o)žije continues to expand its reach and ambition each year, offering a unique model of street-based cultural revival rooted in creativity, spontaneity, and public space.
