A Festival in Samothrace (Ena Festival sti Samothraki) is a four-day multidisciplinary cultural festival, created in 2021 and situated in Samothrace. It is conceived and directed by Venia Stamatiadi and Eleni Apostolopoulou, and organized by the Greek artistic company Art Field (Pedio Technis) in collaboration with the French art Collective Strates. It is the only spring festival in Northern Greece and covers the entire spectrum of creative expression: theatre, music, dance, cinema, photography, circus, and educational workshops for adults and children. By providing residency programs, the festival invites artists to create in situ works. In this way, the historical route, the cultural memory and the identity of the island are highlighted through art. The artists interact with the permanent residents, engage in dialogue, and become part of the local everyday life. The Festival’s team aims to give space to emerging artists to express new ideas, and create bonds between this secluded area of Greece and the metropolis.
