After three dynamic years, A Festival in Samothrace returns for its fourth consecutive edition, renewed and more creative than ever. From Friday, July 4th to Monday, July 7th, 2025, the Festival will host a series of theatrical, musical, dance, and participatory activities for audiences of all ages, focusing on integrating art into the natural and social fabric of the island.Led by Venia Stamatiadi, A Festival in Samothrace continues its mission with consistency and inspiration, aiming to highlight the cultural identity of this unique place while bridging the gap with mainland Greece. Once again, the participation of volunteers and local residents is significant, as they eagerly anticipate and warmly embrace the Festival each year.Starting from the Old Primary School of Thermes, the Festival transforms various locations across the island into vibrant cultural hubs.In addition to already recognized productions traveling to Samothrace, this year, for the first time, a fully developed theatrical performance will begin its journey on the island. In its Greek premiere, the play “Video Club Fantasia”, with original text by Michalis Malandrakis and Nikola Lampakis and directed by Nikola Lampakis, will debut at the Festival before traveling to Athens and other parts of Greece. In this way, the remote island of Samothrace becomes a center for cultural creation and the export of artistic activity, while the Festival establishes itself as a pillar supporting contemporary dramaturgy. The main sponsor of this year’s edition is the Georgios and Viktoria Karelia Foundation.
