Nuits Lyriques de Marmande - Operatic Nights

Marmande's Operatic Nights were created to :

- Discover young operatic talents during the International Singing Competition, - Promote them by hiring them during the Festival, - Putting Lyric Art within everyone's reach: the general public, schools, young people, an impeded public,... - Contribute to the cultural attractiveness of the territory, its tourism development, the enhancement of its image and its notoriety both in the New Aquitaine Region and internationally (Jury and candidates from all over the world). - Programming for the general public with a requirement for quality and professionalism that contribute to the success toward spectators and professionals.

Our aim is to firmly anchor the Festival in the region by : - federating local volunteers for the organization, - having constituted and animating a Choir from the Val de Garonne Area and participating in the Festival's productions, - dreach the Opera in the countryside, which is no longer reserved for major opera houses but also for a local audience, - soliciting local cultural partners (for example, the Symphonistes d'Aquitaine Orchestra), - ensuring economic benefits thanks to the economic weight induced or generated by the event.

We propose one opera, recitals, cinema, opera competition and some shows and an interactive choir installation (SMing by Superbe)...

We welcome about 3,500 to 4,000 people.

Geographical origin of the public: - 60% of the Department including 20% of Marmande - 85% in New Aquitaine, including 16% in Gironde - 15% from other French departments or from abroad

The Association has a proactive pricing policy that allows access for all: - Free admission for the 2-day qualifying round of the International Singing Competition, - Free admission to school shows when educational projects are organized, - Reduced rates for the whole Festival (young people under 25 years old - job seekers), - Discount contest pass for the entire International Singing Competition.

Candidates for the Competition (young opera singers): on average, 160 entries per edition from 28 different countries

About one twenty internationally renowned opera professionals came to take part in the Jury and discover young talents.
