ReMusica Festival has grown into the cultural heartbeat of Kosovo and one of South-East Europe’s most distinguished platforms for contemporary and classical music. Beyond presenting world-class performances, and offering to audiences a unique journey through classical repertoire, ReMusica is firmly committed to education and the cultivation of future generations of musicians.

Since its establishment in 2002, it has placed educational initiatives at the heart of its mission, offering masterclasses, workshops, and dedicated platforms such as ReNew for emerging talent and ReMusica Junior for children, including those with special educational needs.

These programmes encourage creativity, develop skills, and promote critical engagement with music, ensuring that young people experience it not only as an art form to be admired, but also as a medium for learning, imagination, and discovery.

For more than two decades, ReMusica has collaborated with schools, educators, and families to create opportunities for children and young people to explore and embrace the power of music.

Through its ReMusica Junior programme, children are introduced to music in playful and inspiring ways. They explore, for example, how instruments sound individually and together, how an orchestra is structured, and the role each instrument plays. In workshops, they also build their own instruments from recycled materials such as bottles and cans, discovering how imagination can transform ordinary objects into tools of expression while gaining awareness of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

ReMusica has also provided a platform for young performers through concerts featuring children’s orchestras and youth ensembles, as well as by commissioning new works written specifically for young audiences and performers - from piano miniatures to chamber and orchestral pieces. These initiatives enrich the repertoire available to young performers and audiences alike, while fostering new artistic contributions from composers.

Another unique experience they provide is the The World of Sounds - ReMusica’s annual acousmatic concert - invite children to listen attentively to their surroundings. The sounds of waves, wind, and animals become part of an adventure in listening that highlights space, silence, and the poetry of everyday sound.

For schools, the festival provides interactive learning environments in which students can explore, create, and collaborate under the guidance of musicians and educators from Kosovo and abroad, collaborating with Kosovo’s primary schools. Teachers, in turn, benefit from their pupils’ active participation in cultural and artistic experiences that encourage imagination, teamwork, and critical thinking.

ReMusica has established itself as a vital educational partner, ensuring that music remains a central part of childhood and providing young people with a space to learn, imagine, and create.
