Nicozi

Animation Film Festival Nikozi

01 Sep - 7 Sep 2025 | Upper Nikozi, Georgia

After the previous animated film studio was destroyed during the war in 2008, St. Alexandre Okropiridze Art School and cultural centre was established to help children dealing with the stressful experiences of war - offering free classes in fine arts, music, choreography, folk music, chanting, animation, shadows’ theatre, foreign languages and computer skills.

Nikozi Festival represents a call for reconstruction, mutual respect, cooperation and friendship. The purpose of the festival is to bring knowledge, experience and simple joy of animation art, to inspire, not for commercial gain or competition. For locals, it is the way to come into live contact with the world-class art, have their peaceful statement heard and get an opportunity to reach out to other nations and people for cooperation and friendship.

Edinburgh Art Festival 2025

07 Aug 2025 - 24 Aug 2025 | Edinburgh, United Kingdom

EAF (Edinburgh Art Festival) is the UK’s largest annual festival of visual art. The Festival’s 21st edition takes root in the EAF Pavilion, branching out to galleries and community spaces, museums and artist-run spaces across the city. The Festival invites you to witness, reflect, and participate in these narratives that have fought to be remembered, from modern myths to queer history, the political body to environmental collectivity.

Both leading international and UK artists and the best emerging talent are the protagonists of the festival, along with major survey exhibitions of historic figures, and a special programme of newly commissioned artworks that respond to public and historic sites in the city. And if that wasn't enough, the vast majority of the festival is free to attend.
