Platforma

International Arts Festival PLARTFORMA

12 Sept - 28 Oct 2023 | Klaipėda, Lithuania

The mission of the international arts festival "Plartforma" is to unite the artistic experience of different countries and the creative potential of artists in a common creative event. The festival presents contemporary dance and theatre, new circus, music, performance and visual art creators and their groups. This is the only interdisciplinary festival in Klaipėda and Western Lithuania, which, in addition to the cultural, also performs an educational function – it introduces and invites the audience to understand and appreciate contemporary artistic expression.

The main concept of the festival is related to the geographical and metaphysical interpretations of boundary zones, which are embodied in the character of the festival itself: different genres, forms of expression and ideas intervene here, paying no attention to the borders of traditional arts. Such art synthesis is identical to a search for new limit points, which is presented during the festival.

Culturescapes

Culturescapes 2023 Sahara

01 Oct - 30 Nov 2023 | Basel, Switzerland

Culturescapes is a multidisciplinary biennial arts festival celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2023. Since its inception, the festival has focused on the cultural landscapes of countries and regions, aspiring to promote cross-border dialogue, mutual learning between cultures, cooperation and networking. Its founders believe cultural relations and understanding are a gateway to more inclusive, open, and fair societies.

The focus for this edition of Culturescapes will be on the Sahara. By connecting the seas and oceans on the opposite sides of the continent, the Sahara used to be a network of pathways and travel routes, carrying and connecting peoples and cultures. Together with artists and curators from within and around the Sahara, Culturescapes wants to talk about the Sahara today.

Artonov

ARTONOV Festival

07 Oct - 15 Oct 2023 | Brussels, Belgium

The ARTONOV Festival is inspired by the international Art Nouveau movement, both for its philosophy and its implementation, but also by the Japanese sensorial and multidisciplinary art. Its goal is to generate a convergence between the performing arts - music, dance, theatre - and fashion and visual arts, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and creation in Art Nouveau and Art Deco houses and other venues of remarkable architecture in Brussels.

The festival presents a dozen original and innovative artistic performances featuring young people and professionals. It aims to offer artists, primarily emerging artists, the opportunity to develop their artistic projects in a spirit of collaboration between generations, nationalities and artistic disciplines. The festival's ambition is to reconnect with the concept of ‘total art’, as Henry van de Velde understood it: to unify music, visual arts, architecture, dance, design, theatre and video and to offer our young Europeans a workspace that fosters their creativity, curiosity and professional emancipation.
