Circus Mania

CirkusMania 2024

9 Feb - 18 Feb 2024 | Norsborg, Sweden

CirkusMania is an annual circus festival presented by 30 venues across the Stockholm region. CirkusMania was initiated and is coordinated by the cultural centre Subtopia, aiming to stimulate interest and curiosity for contemporary circus among audiences in an extensive collaboration between stakeholders across the region.

In the 2024 edition, 30 performances will be presented, including no less than 3 world premieres. Several of this year’s performances revolve around the theme of interdependence: the idea that everyone and everything is interconnected and mutually dependent for balance. Not only do our actions affect ourselves but also others and the world around us: in friendship, family, love, politics, science, and nature. As a response to the current times, questions about chain reactions, cooperation, and our shared responsibility for the world we inhabit are highlighted.
