[Zoom-in] Rites of passage
There is a boundary between the old and the new, the usual and the change: each lived process is marked by rites of passage or events that disrupt them with shifts and innovations. These festivals explore different passages, from the temporal to the geographical and historical ones, challenging and reinventing them as we celebrate the yearly passage from one year to another.
Edinburgh's Hogmanay
29 Dec 2025 - 01 Jan 2026 | Edinburgh, UK
Hogmanay is the Scottish word for the last day of the year, and the Festival dates back to 1993, evolving to one of the greatest outdoor celebrations of New Year’s Eve in the world. Four days of torchlight procession, massive outdoor street party, concerts, fireworks, and smaller live public entertainment. As the bells strike midnight, join hands with friends from across the globe.
